Fazaa card in the UAE

MembershipUAELast checked

The short answer

Fazaa is a UAE discount membership that you carry in the Fazaa app. Whether you can get one depends mostly on your employer or your situation, and for 2026 resident families with at least one child can also join free. Show the card, or use the code, at partner shops to get the offer.

Quick facts

What Fazaa is

Fazaa is a discount membership programme in the UAE. Members get offers from partner businesses across travel, dining, shopping and entertainment.

The card lives in the Fazaa app, which you can download from the App Store or Google Play. In shops you show the digital card, or the QR code in the app, to get the offer.

Who can join

Fazaa is mainly tied to where you work. According to Property Finder, the main groups are government and semi-government employees, approved private sector staff, frontline healthcare workers, People of Determination, and Golden Visa holders under specific conditions.

Expats are not shut out. Property Finder says an expat can apply if their employer is registered with Fazaa. If you are unsure, ask your HR team whether your company has a Fazaa code.

There is also a newer route that does not depend on your job. For the Year of the Family in 2026, resident families in the UAE with at least one child can get a free Fazaa membership. Gulf Business reports that it is run by the Fazaa Programme with the Ministry of Family and ends with the year.

  • Government and semi-government employees
  • Approved private sector staff, if the employer is registered
  • Frontline healthcare workers and People of Determination (Hemam)
  • Golden Visa holders, under specific conditions
  • Resident families with at least one child, free through 2026

Card levels and cost

Property Finder lists Platinum for Ministry of Interior employees, Gold for government and semi-government staff, Silver for private sector employees, and a basic Discount Card. It also lists Hemam and Student cards. It says Silver and Discount cards are typically free and Gold and Platinum need a paid subscription, but prices vary, so check the app for the current price.

You can see the level on the du page too. du sells postpaid plans in Silver, Gold and Platinum that come with the matching Fazaa membership. That is du's own plan, with its own terms, so do not treat it as the price of the card.

How to apply

Applications are done digitally. The family route uses the Fazaa website, where you enter your details and upload Emirates ID copies for every family member. You get an email, then activate the digital membership in the Fazaa app.

  1. Download the Fazaa app or open the Fazaa website.
  2. Enter your details and your Emirates ID. If you apply through work, add your company code.
  3. Submit your employment details, or for the family route upload Emirates ID copies for each family member.
  4. Verify with the code you receive and wait for approval.
  5. Activate the digital card in the app.

How to renew

A renewal guide on fazaacard.org, which is not an official site, says you renew in the app or portal by choosing Renew Card, checking your details, uploading documents and paying the renewal fee. It also says you can go to a Fazaa centre with your Emirates ID, and that you cannot renew without a valid Emirates ID. Check the current steps and fee in the Fazaa app, because we could not confirm the amount.

Using the discounts

Offers sit in the app, listed by category. Property Finder mentions groceries, dining, healthcare, fitness, travel, hotels, education and cars. Percentages differ by partner and by product, so read the offer page before you go.

Terms often matter. Jumbo Electronics gives Fazaa and Esaad holders coupon codes at checkout, but says you must show the card when you collect the order, and it can cancel the order if you do not. Apparel Group lists Fazaa among the cards it accepts and says its offer cannot be used with any other discount or promotion, and applies to full-priced items only.

Always show the card before you pay. Many offers cannot be added to a sale price.

Before you rely on an offer

Offers change, and partners set their own conditions. Before you plan a purchase around a Fazaa discount, open the offer in the app and read it. Look at the percentage, the products it covers, the branches that take part, and the end date.

If the offer is online, check whether you need a coupon code. If it is in a shop, check whether the cashier needs to see the card on your phone. A screenshot may not be accepted everywhere, and Jumbo Electronics, for example, takes a screenshot of the card along with your order number.

If a partner refuses the card, ask them to check with their manager and keep your receipt. You can then tell Fazaa through the app or its contact centre. Gulf Business notes there is a contact centre for activation problems.

How Fawz helps

Fawz is not released yet, and you can join the waiting list. When it is out, it will keep your membership cards (Fazaa, Esaad, Homat Al Watan) on your phone, and they are only sent to us if you choose. At the till it suggests which of your cards or memberships to use.

Fawz also tracks minimum monthly spend and caps on your cards, so a Fazaa offer at the till does not cost you a higher cashback rate you were about to reach.
