The short answer
Three programmes come up most in Saudi Arabia: stc Qitaf, Al Rajhi Bank Mokafaa and Mobily Neqaty. Qitaf and Neqaty are run by phone operators and Mokafaa by a bank. You earn points on bills, card spend and shops that take part, and spend them on services or with those shops.
Quick facts
stc Qitaf
Qitaf is run by stc. We could not open the stc pages in full, so we do not quote a point value, expiry period or sign-up steps. Look at the stc site or app for the current earning rules, the partner list and how points are spent.
A third party write-up says anyone with a Saudi mobile number can join, but check this with stc.
Al Rajhi Bank Mokafaa
Mokafaa is Al Rajhi Bank's points programme. The bank's Mokafaa site lists examples of how you earn, such as 1 point for every 5 SAR on the marketplace and 25 points for a SADAD payment. It says you can redeem at 170 merchants. The site lists other ways to use points too, so check it for the current options and rates.
Mobily Neqaty
Neqaty is Mobily's programme. Mobily says prepaid customers earn 1 point for every SAR 1 spent on calls, SMS or data, and postpaid customers earn 1 point for every SAR 1 of monthly bill payments. Add-on and bundle usage does not earn points. You also earn when you shop at partner outlets.
You can redeem points through the Mobily app, a phone code or the website, for free minutes, data and bill credit, or as discounts at more than 1,200 partner outlets. Check Mobily for the current rules.
How these differ
Qitaf and Neqaty are tied to your phone line, so the points follow the number you use. Mokafaa is tied to your bank card use and bank transactions. You can hold all three at the same time, since they come from different companies.
- Qitaf: run by stc, check stc for the rules
- Mokafaa: earn on Al Rajhi card and bank activity
- Neqaty: earn on Mobily bills, usage and partner outlets
Getting more from points
Points rarely beat a good cashback rate on their own, so compare. A partner may give points and also accept a card with its own reward. Read each programme's terms for caps, partner lists and expiry before you change how you pay.
Programmes change partners and rates often. Treat the numbers here as a guide and check the programme page before you rely on them.
How Fawz helps
Fawz is not released yet, and you can join the waiting list. When it is out, it will suggest which of your cards or memberships to use at the till, and it can keep your membership cards on your phone, sent to us only if you choose.
Fawz also tracks minimum monthly spend and caps on your cards, so you hit the higher cashback rate, and it compares supermarket flyer prices so you can see where an item is cheapest. Fawz never stores card numbers or bank logins and never reads SMS.
